"I love the youth of this church and have a burden to see all of them saved in God's Kingdom. My favorite Bible verse is in 2nd Corinthians 4:16, 'Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.'" He has held several evangelistic campaigns and has been instrumental in bringing many people, especially youth, to Christ.

A native of Tanzania he graduated from Solusi College, Zimbabwe, Africa, with a BA in Theology in 1973. He then served the church as an Assistant Union Evangelist, a Field Director for Youth, Education, Sabbath School, and Communication departments. He was later elected to the Tanzania Union where he served as the director for the Youth, Education, and Communication departments. In 1978 he went to Andrews University and received a Masters in Religion in 1980 and a Doctorate in Education in 1983. He then served the Lord in the Eastern Africa Division as Youth Director and Ministerial Secretary from 1985 to 1995.

Dr. Muganda is married to Anne Martin Muganda. They are the happy parents of three adult daughters: Diana, Tanya, and Anita.

Hiskia Missah

Hiskia MissahHiskia Israil Missah is an Associate Youth Director of the General Conference of SDA. Before joining the World Headquarters in Maryland in June 2006, he served as Senior pastor of the Indonesian American SDA Church in Azusa, California, for seven months. Prior to that, he served as the Youth and PARL Director of Southern Asia Pacific Division located in Manila, Philippines for ten years.

During his over 30 years of service to the church, he served at different positions and responsibilities, including as the Youth Director of the West Indonesia Union Mission, President of East Java Conference, Chaplain of Bandung Adventist Hospital and Jakarta English Language School, and as a youth pastor in Jakarta.

An Evangelist and speaker of Nationa Television Broadcasting in Indonesia for many years, he received his Masteral degree from Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS), and his Doctor of Ministry from Philippine Christian University Union Theological Seminary. He treats young people as his friends and buddies, and desires to see all of them enter the Heavenly Kingdom.

A native of Indonesia, Dr. Missah is married to Dr. Ellen Sudjiman Missah who is currently serving as the Administrative Assistant to the General Conference Vice Presidents: Elder Gerry Karst and Dr. Pardon Mwansa. They have four beautiful daughters: Laura, Edith, Sheryl, and Ellen, and three grandchildren: Rachel, Hiskia, and Matthew.


Associate Youth Director
Jonatan Tejel

Jonatán Tejel Subirada is the 7th Pathfinder Director of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church. The son of a pastor, Andrés and Josefina Tejel, Jonatan is used to changes. As is common for many PKs (pastor kid), the family frequently moved until they settled in Madrid, Spain, where he spent his adolescent years.

He was baptized by his father, Pastor Andrés Tejel, on December 26, 1981. In 1990 he began his studies in Theology at Sagunto Adventist College. He attended that institution for the first three years, and then moved on to Collonges (France) where he completed his degree in Theology in 1995.

In 1992 he obtained an Official Certificate as Free Time Activity Coordinator, a title that is only granted by the Department of Education of the Spanish Government.

He is married to the former Daniela Sciarabba. They are the parents of two daughters; Astrid, born in 1999 and Édera, born in 2001.

Jonatán Tejel has over twelve years experience as a youth ministries director, speaks four languages (Spanish, Italian, English and French), and was the creator and the editor of Conexión, a youth ministries magazine for the Adventist Church in Spain.

Jonatán enjoys sports like football, rock climbing, scuba diving and likes working with computers and doing puzzles.

One of his favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 40:30-31. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
